How the FrontDesk Program Works

InnAble FrontDesk is a hybrid system that combines the best features of web-based and Windows-based programs. It is a complete solution with five main components:

Online database and services to provide backup, inter-hotel synchronization,
head-office reporting, and central reservations

The connections between the five components are illustrated with sample hotels below:

Small Independent Hotel

Independent Small Hotel
  • The simplest case is a small independent hotel with no external systems and without online reservations
  • The FrontDesk program and the DB are installed on a single computer
  • InnAble.net is used to periodically backup the DB

Large Independent Hotel

Independent Large Hotel
  • A large independent hotel may use three or four workstations
  • The hotel's call-accounting and video-on-demand systems automatically post charges using InnAble Link
  • Customers can make self-serve reservations using InnAble Web

Chain of Hotels

Chain of Hotels
  • With a chain of hotels, InnAble.net is able to synchronize chain-wide data
    • Shared customer lists
    • Approved companies for invoicing
  • InnAble.net is also used for head-office reporting and central reservations
  • Each hotel location may have multiple workstations and/or be linked to external systems
